ARCLIS INTERACTIVE

AI + tech + art. A project space for interactive systems, browser-based experiments, creative coding, games, and open-source process.

Project Showcase

Two current entries: a coded Christmas tree and a musical cooking game.

Creative Coding / Open Source

The Orbit We Share

A vibe-coded Christmas tree experiment collected under ARCLIS as an open-source browser work. The project sits between festive visual play, personal coding practice, and lightweight interactive art.

Game / Musical Interaction

Rhythm Kitchen: A Musical Cooking Game

An interactive music game in development by Si Scoring Studio, transforming everyday cooking gestures into structured musical composition.

Concept and Research Background

The project grows out of the studio's long-term exploration of gesture-based sound production and everyday rhythm patterns. Cutting, stirring, pouring and heating all contain tempo, density, accent and dynamic changes. Rather than asking players to follow a fixed soundtrack, Rhythm Kitchen allows the music to follow the player.

Concept and Inspiration

The kitchen itself functions as an instrument. The environment becomes the interface, and cooking becomes performative sound design inside a flat 2D game with a clean modular layout.

Core System Model

Kitchen Zone Player Action Musical Function DAW Equivalent
Ingredient Zone Select materials Choose sound layer role Add Track
Preparation Zone Cutting / chopping / repetition Generate rhythmic pattern MIDI sequence / grid density
Stove & Heat Zone Stir / toss / reduce / simmer Control dynamics & progression Automation

Professional Music Structure Reference

Layer Role in Music How Player Creates It
Rhythm Layer Time grid & movement Cutting tempo & repetition
Bass Layer Foundation and weight Selecting main solid food ingredient
Texture / Harmony Layer Space and atmosphere Preparation mixing / seasoning
Melody / Motif Layer Identity & emotional center Adding sauce

Level Example - Mapo Tofu

Cooking Step In-Game Gesture Music Result Parameter Affected
Take tofu Select ingredient module Activates bass layer Layer on / timbre select
Cutting tofu Repetitive knife motion Generates rhythm pattern Note density / swing amount
Heat oil Raise temperature gradually Introduces energy curve Filter drive / attack shape
Stir-fry tofu Continuous circular movement Forms groove motion LFO rate / modulation depth
Add sauce Final decisive pour Generates melody / hook motif Trigger / phrase length
Simmer to finish Reduce motion & wait Music release & outro Reverb decay / volume envelope

Visual & Interaction Design Direction

  • Style: minimal 2D modular UI.
  • Color: light neutrals with one accent tone.
  • Icons: rounded rectangle components with MIDI pad logic.
  • Movement: continuous curve motion into sound modulation.

Development Progress

Rhythm Kitchen is currently in the concept and system-design stage. Core components in development include interface layout sketches, ingredient and tool icon sets, gesture triggers, layer and signal-flow planning, and early interaction tests. Next steps include a playable prototype, expanded recipes, and small-scale user tests.
